Anatol Horizon Automatic Printing Press.

Product Overview

The Horizon Automatic Screen Printing Press is the perfect entry level automatic press to add to any print shop. Compare the special configurations and small sizing with competitive machines. Since we introduced the Horizon we’ve had overwhelming response to this machine as the best option to a first automatic press.

The Horizon is an example of another innovative idea from Anatol. This press has the same heavy duty construction as the rest of the entire Anatol line of equipment. Along with the most technologically advanced features on the market, it also allows for quick changes and easy setups that our presses are known for. This press was designed with the printers needs in mind. The Control panel is mounted on a rotating arm for easy setup and functionality. It’s not only a great choice for a startup machine but it can fit in the smallest areas. It is engineered for longevity and reliability with minimal downtime and maintenance.

Our vast experience has allowed us to build a great press and use a little more creativity. For example, the Rod Cylinders are protected from sprays and inks, the rotating control panel facilitates fast start-ups and change-overs and special configurations and small sizing make it very versatile. At just under 8’ in diameter this is one of the smallest automatic presses on the market.

This press is full of standard features that make setup, printing and teardown quick and easy. This includes Quick Release Systems for both Pallets and Squeegee/Flood Bars, Side Screen Clamps and Front Loading Screens. All Anatol equipment is designed to meet or exceed industry standards and can be used with other manufacturer’s equipment such as pre-press registration systems and pallets.

RAPID SET UP AND CHANGE OVER:

Uniquely designed features reduce many tasks to one rapid motion, making change over between jobs a snap. Our side bar clamp design offers the most flexible print head design in the industry.

  • Front Loading Screens.  A flip of the pneumatic screen clamps allows screens to simply slide in and out.

  • Quick Release Squeegee and Flood Bars.  A flip of the lever allows squeegee and flood bars to simply pop out. To replace just snap in. This recent exclusive innovation standardizes a feature many have been doing without due to the hefty $400 per head price for pneumatics.

  • Quick Release Pallet System. Changing from regular size to youth pallets on the next job? This innovation reduces pallet changes to load and lock with one flip of a lever.

  • Screen width adjustment. Side screen holders easily adjust. If you have different size screens - such as certain existing stock from manual printing, simply turn the locking knobs and slide along the gauged track.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE.

Maintenance requirements are often a second thought when purchasing a press. Many times while focusing on what a press can do for you, the maintenance schedule that manufacturers require may not be at the top of your comparison list.

But at Anatol we take nothing for granted. We specifically design our equipment for long life and to reduce the amount of maintenance required to get the equipment to its vintage years, even if it means building additional cost into the equipment.

A perfect example of this is our true-servo technology, with a self-lubricating oil bath. The end result on maintenance is that the customer only needs to occasionally monitor the oil level, probably adding oil less than once a year as compared to others that use an oil drip method requiring: daily maintenance, costly replacement oil, and proper disposal of waste oil per local codes and regulations.

We go the extra mile in all our equipment.

  • Here are some of our features that reduce maintenance/down time.

  • Servo Indexer with true precision ball screw and internal lubrication system.

  • Easy access grease fitting.  Located on the perimeter of the carousel this feature allows for quick access to apply weekly (approximate) greasing.

Other than cleaning the equipment, there is very little maintenance besides these few items, as a result of the technologies we employ. An example of this are our precision linear bearings, which are the heart of the print carriage system. The print heads move front to back on these.

  • We use patented maintenance free technology where other manufacturers recommend weekly cleaning of old lubricant and re-greasing.

Membrane switches.

We use this technology, which is rated for millions of uses, in both our main control panel and individual head control panels. Replacing toggle switch technology, that has a much shorter life, these panels reduce trips to the hardware store and down time. In the rare case any control panel switch or other control panel component does go out, there is no troubleshooting required.

OTHER QUALITY FEATURES:

Being built from the ground up to be solid in every aspect does not only reduce maintenance costs. Check out these additional features that promote smooth performance and high production speeds.

  • Heavy duty powder coated steel frame with minimal deflection.

  • Large diameter hardened steel center post provides a solid base for stability.

  • Hydraulic shock absorbers. To assure the ultimate in smooth stops, Anatol employs high grade hydraulic shock absorbers at both the end of print and flood strokes.

  • Precision linear bearings on print carriage assure smooth and accurate print strokes even at the fastest speeds while promoting low maintenance costs.

  • Indexing system offers precise control of fine registration (+/- .001”) of pallet position for higher resolution prints

  • Both Pneumatic and Servo indexing models available

  • Safety system includes safety bars between print heads and at load/unload stations. Our innovative bars:Save setup time as they snap back in place after head changeover,

  • Promote a safer work environment as they trip the emergency stop with well under an inch of deflection and because they are less likely to be overridden by employees as safety cords are when they become defective, and Reduce maintenance costs/ downtime because they are less likely to become defective.

  • Skip shirt smash buttons. In addition to the skip shirt functionality on the main control panel which allows the press to continue on uninterrupted while not printing on a specific pallet as it travels around the press even if a shirt is skipped or misloaded, we also include large diameter smash buttons at both load/unload stations for “no-brainer” quick activation of this feature.

  • Low profile side screen holders allow easy access to screens during both set up and while loading ink.

Industry Compatibility.

All Anatol equipment is designed to meet or exceed industry standards and expectations in all respects and can be used with virtually all other manufacturers’ accessories such as pre-press registration systems, squeegee's, flood bars and even pallets.

  • Chopper motion type squeegee and flood bars provide for optimal control even at high speeds

  • Squeegee pressure regulator with gauge standard on each print head

  • Precise central off contact adjustment in .004” increments

Standard Features

The Horizon frame is built from heavy duty steel which facilitates high speeds and
smooth production cycles. Its large column with thrust ball bearing provides registration stability and long life. Its small footprint accommodates tight spaces.

The pneumatic indexer contains a hydraulic shock absorber that is air cooled for superior running efficiency and durability in a wide range of operating conditions. The heavy duty linear bearings are easily accessible for maintenance.

The main control panel has a digital microprocessor that is easy to program for fast set-ups. It rotates 340 degrees for easy access at any station, and is programmable for:

  • self-diagnostic features

  • automatic sequential start/finish functions

  • multiple print strokes for each head

  • sample print feature to print one shirt automatically

  • dwell times to adjust cycling speed/cool down time

  • full flash programming including dwell

  • the screen displays print count and speed (dozens/hr)

Individual print head controls perform the following functions:

  • print speed

  • flood speed

  • screen clamping

  • squeegee pressure

The tool-less adjustments include:

  • gauged, front/rear stroke adjustments that are easy to slide into lock/unlock positions

  • gauged, click-type central off-contact precisely adjusts all print stations simultaneously with a 0 to 3/8 inch range by .005 increments

  • a protective nylon guard shields rod cylinders from glue, sprays, inks, and solvents

  • quick-release squeegee/flood bars snap in and out with the flip of a lever for load and lock operation

  • front loading screens make for quick changeover and maximum productivity

  • Engineered for longevity and reliability. Two year limited warranty.

Options

  • AC driven print heads are available on units with servo indexer. Must be factory installed and cannot be retrofitted. AC heads provide increased power and control of the print and flood strokes. They are an optimal choice when using dense inks or for high-end work where maintaining consistent speed across the entire stroke length is crucial.

  • Foot pedal for control of both auto and manual index modes.

  • Tool-less individual head off contact (IHOC). Simply turn IHOC knobs a specific number of clicks to individually control the off contact on any head. Purchase for one, all or any number of specific heads.

  • Screen width extenders. These allow for the use of wider screens, and facilitate a wider maximum image area.

  • Skip Shirt Smash buttons located at both Load and Unload Station to prevent printing on blank pallets or misloaded t-shirt.
Squeegee Pressure Regulator provides exact squeegee pressure control.
Front and Rear Screen Holders for those who prefer side loading of screens in tight spaces.

  • Tool-Free Pallet Locator speeds pallet changeover.

  • Flash Cure Units. A full range of flash cures are available for use with the Horizon including the Infrared Shuttle Flash and the Medium Quartz Rapid Wave Flash.

  • The Pneumatic Driven Medium Quartz Q-Runner Flash is available when flashing and printing on the same head is desired. This can add versatility to your press. Great for adding flash capability without reducing the color capacity.

  • Pallets. Numerous sizes are available in a variety of styles including Quick Release, slide clamping style, youth, sleeve, double sleeve, all-over and jacket hold down. We can make a custom pallet for your application.

  • We can customize an entire press for your application. Need a different print stroke length? We can add it. You will never use a specific station as a print head? We can remove it. We have manufactured special use presses for applications such as printing on promotional bags. Let us know what your requirements are and see what we can do.

  • 4, 5, 6 and 8 color machines can be constructed to fit through standard walkthrough doorways. Check with dealer for your requirements. This MUST be specified at time of order and cannot be retrofitted.
